The organically shaped caps are made of composite and will be placed at certain junctions on the boulevard, along with some matching seating stones. The HUBS provide shelter from sun or rain, or just a place to meet and rest. These eye-catchers interconnect, among others, the large parking lot, the town center and Emmen Zoo. Their organic and playful form stimulates the imagination of the visitors.

After sound preparation in terms of strength/wind calculations, the production of the HUBS was launched. The edges of the caps are fitted with RGB controlled LED lighting enabling the color to be adjusted as required. Spots with dimmers were fitted underneath the caps. A total of nine of these HUBS have been installed on the northern boulevard; at a later stage, several more will be installed on the southern boulevard, which is yet to be constructed.
