Municipality Amsterdam — Metamorphosis of Vondelpark in Amsterdam

Inspired by the park flora and fauna

Vondelpark in Amsterdam has a special appeal for people of all ages and has had so historically. It is one of the most frequented parks in the Netherlands. The park was given a metamorphosis in 2017. The design of the romantic, integral plan was created by Anouk Vogel and Johan Selbing and is entitled Vondel Verzen.

The furniture reflects the flora and fauna found in the park. Various elements such as a kiosk, lampposts, litter bins, information signs and rosary signs are part of the plan.

Elegant and robust ornaments

On average, 10 million people visit the park annually; that is approximately 21 visitors per square meter. In order to help all these visitors find their way, four large information panels have been placed on screw anchors; smaller versions will follow in time. The clamping ornaments of the panels are made of cast aluminum.

Vondelpark has been furnished with low boundary fencing by CM3. A striking detail are the flora ornaments, which are cast in aluminum. The measuring and laying out of the fences was carried out in close cooperation with the project managers of the City of Amsterdam and Vondelpark. The choice was made to use robust thick-walled tubes made from rolled steel.
